Adding a YouTube Video

To add a YouTube video to your survey, will need to obtain the Embed code from the YouTube website, and copy it into the survey Editor.

Copying the Embed Code from YouTube

To obtain the embed code for the video:

  1. Open the YouTube page where the video is located.
  2. Underneath the video, click the Share icon.
  3. In the menu that opens, click Embed.
  4. Highlight the code provided and press CTRL+C to copy. On a Mac, press Command+C.

Your video embed code will look something like this: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/d- T6rpHuuoJcw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

  3. Click Add Question to add the video to a new question, or click Edit Question to add it to an existing question.
  4. Click the Enable Editor button under the Question Text field.
  5. Click the YouTube icon in the Editor. A pop-up window appears.
  6. Paste the YouTube video URL into the Paste YouTube Video URL field.
  7. Customise the appearance of your video using the fields that follow:

    • Check Make Responsive to automatically resize the video to fit
    • Check Show suggested videos at the videos end to display related videos when your embedded video has finished playing
    • Check Use old embed code to paste an older version of the embed code in the box
    • Check Autoplay to force the video to play as soon as the page is loaded
    • Check Enable privacy-enhanced mode to prevent YouTube collecting data about your visitors unless they click Play
    • Type the Start at time to start the video part-way through, using the format hh:mm:ss (hours:minutes:seconds)
