Setting a Cut-off Time and Date

Your survey can be set to automatically close at a pre-set time and date in the future.

Adding a Cut-off Time and Date

  1. At the Home page, click on My Surveys located in the blue navigation bar on the left of the page
  2. Click on the Collect within the box of your chosen survey
  3. Under Tracking Links, hover over the link you wish to edit and click the Settings icon next to Preview
  4. On the left of the pop-up box, under Advanced Options, click Restrictions
  5. Check the box next to Set a Cut-off Date & Time
  6. Click in the Date/Time box and choose your preferred date using the calander, then select your preferred time using the clock directly below it
  7. Click the green Save Changes button

You can also edit the message that potential respondents will see when they try to access your survey after it has closed. This can be handy if you intend to open the survey back up at a later date, as you can inform them in your message of dates that the survey will be open again. You can find our guide for editing this message here.

Your cutoff time must be entered in GMT or UTC time (+0000). You must also use the 24-hour format. For example, 3pm would be entered as 15:00

NOTE: The survey will not automatically appear "Closed" in the collect tab at the exact instant of the selected time and date. Instead, the survey will be set to close when the first person tries to access it after the time passes. For surveys with a very low rate of responses, this may cause a survey to appear to still be open some time after the time and date passes - however it will always be impossible for someone to respond to the survey after the set time and date.
