Manually Entering Survey Responses

Manual entry is useful if not all of your responses have been completed digitally, for example if you have used paper questionnaires or oral surveys. Adding these to your digital responses means they will be included in any data analysis you wish to carry out.

Adding Responses Manually

To add answers manually:

  1. Go to the Collect page of your survey.
  2. Under Tracking Links, select the link you wish to use (Default Web Link will be used in most cases).
  3. Under Tracking Link Settings, click Toggle Advanced Options.
  4. Select Manual Entry.
  5. Click Add Response. This will open the survey for your to type your responses.
  6. When you have completed the survey once, you will be returned to the Manual Entry scheme. Click Add Response again to continue with a new set of responses.
  7. To view responses you have inputted, click Refresh List in the Manual Entry screen.

Creating a Specific Tracking Link for Manual Data Entry

Alternatively, you can create a specific new Tracking Link for manually-entered responses.

  1. Go to the Collect page of your survey.
  2. Under Tracking Links, create a new Web Link
  3. Rename this web link to "Manual Data Entry" or something appropriate for your needs
  4. Use this tracking to enter data manually.
